Brigadier General Dele Arogundade is a chartered emotional intelligence professional by the Chartered Institute of Management Consultants, USA. He is a certified life coach by Udemy Academy, United Kingdom.

General Arogundade is an alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School, Boston, USA, specializing in Leadership and Strategic Management. He holds a master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and a master’s degree in Warfare Studies from the University of Balochistan, Pakistan. He is currently doing his doctoral studies in Leadership and Strategic Studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna-Nigeria.

General Dele bagged his Electrical/Electronic Engineering bachelor’s degree from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, Nigeria. He is a chartered Engineer. His academic interest is in emotional intelligence and alternative dispute resolution (Mediation and Negotiation), which he is very passionate about. He sees it as a catalyst for effectiveness in the workplace and ensuring general peace in society. He brought to bear his social skillset during many instances where he applied alternative dispute resolution methods to maintain stability during internal security operations in different states in Nigeria. Prominent amongst them was during his sojourn in Maiduguri as a sector commander in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents. Additionally, he was highly commended by the Force Commander of the United Nations African Union Hybrid Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) Sudan Republic for his uncommon negotiation and mediation skills in resolving a long-standing internal conflict between the civilian and military components of the Mission concerning vehicle distribution modalities.

Arogundade is a published poet with three anthologies to his credit and an inspirational conference speaker. He has delivered papers at different fora, including the Combat Service Support Training Week in 2019, and has been a resource person at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna; Nigerian Army Resource Centre; Army War College, Nigeria; and Warrant Officers Academy, Jaji- Kaduna.

He also conducted leadership training for middle and top-level management staff of the National Youth Service Corps in 2021. He was a one-time Subject Expert on Far East Asia at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja.

He was a panel discussant at the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2019 on Research and Development and human capital development. He is a recipient of the Chief of Army Staff’s commendation letters and Invention Medals.

General Arogundade is passionate about human capital development as a critical asset for optimal productivity at the workplace.

He is a fellow of the following organizations; Integrated Institute of Professional Management, National Defence College, and the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Nigeria. He belongs to various professional bodies including the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Society for Peace Studies and Practice, the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and The Abuja Literary Society. He was a member of the faculty at the prestigious National Defence College Abuja-Nigeria. He is presently the Commander, Technical Group EME, Marda Barracks, Yaba-Lagos.

He enjoys nature watching, mentoring, critical thinking, and playing golf in his leisure time. He is happily married with children.
